Introduction
A position has become available for a Controller - Bond to join our dynamic team, based in Denver - Gauteng.
Job description

To control all administrative functions associated within the Bonded Warehouse operations in accordance with Grindrod policies and procedures.

Customer Care

  • To ensure that commitments made to customers are realistic and attainable.
  • To complete a close-out report and e-mail to all customers daily.
Bond Operations

Ensure Bond duties are adhered to as per the Bond SOP.

  • Issuing of all Bond authorisation letters.
  • Checking of all SARS documents to ensure it is correct.
  • Requesting Voucher of Correction if there are any errors on the SARS Bill of Entries.
  • Ensure the container is sealed and the seal is not broken.
  • The bonded cargo must be received / despatched according to SARS regulations; discrepancies must be reported to the CAM immediately.
  • All Bond details must be captured on WMS.
  • Maintaining permissible storage period allowed in bond and sending notifications prior to storage period expiring.
  • Ensure that all abandoned or expired cargo is sent to States warehouse timeously.
  • Ensure all acquittals are completed and sent to the customer or clearing agent.
  • Ensure bonded cargo is monitored and reports are updated.
  • Ensure that weekly stock counts are completed and checked against the registers for all bonded cargo.
  • Ensure all bonded cargo has bond stock cards.
  • Maintain both electronic and manual Bond registers.
  • Maintain 5 years record keeping and ensure it is readily available as required by SARS.
  • Ensure all bond files stored in a fireproof cabinet and it must be locked at all times.

Minimum requirements

Qualification:

  • Grade 12
Experience:

  • 5 years working in a Bonded Warehouse
Skills:

  • Good knowledge of the Warehouse Environment.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels written and verbal.
  • Financial and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Sound operational knowledge of computer systems and software packages.
