Grindrod Logistics is currently recruiting for an IT Assistant to join our team at the head office in Durban.
Job description

To provide support to the product specialist in implementation and improvement of all activities/processes associated with the handling and storage of empty/full containers.

Key Performance Areas
Depot, Operational and I.T Support
  • Provide End User Support to Users at Regional Sites
  • Work in conjunction with Network Manager to ensure environment is well supported and maintains operational uptime
  • Maintaining l .T asset Registers
  • Handling Calls on the l .T Helpdesk
  • Monitoring of Hardware Equipment Age and
  • Software Licenses
  • Setting up of Desktops and Laptops.
  • Travelling to sites when the is an issue that cannot be handled remotely
  • Warehouse and Depot Mobile Device Management
  • Troubleshooting and fixing hardware and software issues
  • Setting Up Users on Office 365
  • Setting Up Users on One Drive
Quality and Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities that benchmark best practices and discuss with Network Manager
  • Assist in development and documentation of uniform l .T processes across all the depots, nationally.
  • Prepare and distribute quality l .T reports.
  • Produce statistics, information, records that are easily accessible
Compliance
  • Ensure Cyber Security Standards are kept
  • Making Sure if a vulnerability alert occurs that it is actioned ASAP
  • Making sure that all security alerts are reported to the Network Manager
General
  • Compile and present documents in a complete Administration and professional manner.
  • Record information in a systematic manner for easy access.
  • Distribute documents as requested by Management
  • Ensure that all record keeping is accurate and up to date.
Information
  • Facilitate all l .T related problems identified by Systems staff by evaluating the nature of the problem and discussing same with the Network Manager for progress and resolutions.

Minimum requirements

Qualifications
  • Grade 12
  • Working towards a degree or diploma

Experience
  • 2 Years' experience within an IT support environment
  • Own vehicle, drivers license, willingness to travel and work undefined hours

Professional Registrations
  • I.T Professional Certified Technician
  • MCSE or MSCA or similar
