Introduction
The IT Security Operations Manager role has specific responsibility for keeping the organisations IT Security Operations running smoothly. The position plays a crucial role in IT Security, and is directly responsible for the following IT Security Services: Security Operations Centre, Threat and Vulnerability Management, Email Security, Web Security, Security Information and Event Management, Firewalls, Antivirus, Endpoints, Cloud Security, Data Loss Prevention, Identity and Access Management etc.
Job description

  • Deliver a highly effective IT Security Operations Function across multiple divisions and geographies in adherence to the CIS/NIST frameworks.
  • Manage response to IT Security incidents ensuring they are resolved efficiently, securely, and to SLA, point person within Grindrod for all IT Security Incidents including potential BCDR invocation events.
  • Review/Resolve urgent ad hoc security requests either from IT or from the Business
  • Manage the following IT Security Services: SOC, TVM, Email Security, Web Security, SIEM, Firewalls, Anti-Virus, Endpoints, Cloud Security, DLP, IAM etc. Services may be delivered internally or via external 3rd parties.
  • Support Audit and Risk teams to ensure environment remains compliant and in line with Industry best practice.
  • Responsible for remediation of outputs from audits/maturity assessments, pen testing, tabletop exercises etc.
  • Provide Information security operations input into project teams as required.
  • Produce IT Security Performance Metrics for management information for use in Monthly IT Security Service Reviews
  • Complete regular audits to ensure Information Security requirements and controls are in place (and followed) in our environment.
  • Identify and lead service improvement and cost efficiency initiatives within IT Security Operations without compromise to Security or Efficiency
  • Key member of the Change Advisory Board (CAB) ensuring that Strategic and BAU technology decisions have IT Security to the forefront.
  • Role in ensuring our services remain fit for purpose and that they scale appropriately to meet our organisations ambitious growth objective.

Minimum requirements

Qualification
  • IT Degree or equivalent
  • Suitable Industry Certifications (CISSP, CISM etc.)
Experience
  • 10 years’ experience within IT Security
