Grindrod multi-Purpose Terminals is looking for a SHEQ Administrator to assist with implementing and maintaining of effective Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality management system to meet OHS Act and ISO legal framework.
Job description
The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to:
General responsibilities:
- Support with effective Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHERQ) systems for operational, engineering, construction, and administrative activities in his / her area.
Responsibilities:
- Identify deviations and implement corrective action.
- Enhance continuous efficiency improvements.
- Be always presentable and ensure that all equipment being utilized is maintained, presentable and acceptable.
- Keep all departments, Line Manager SHERQ and National SHERQ Manager fully advised of all relevant SHEQ matters.
- Management feedback.
- Incident Reports.
SHERQ:
- Implement, maintain, and ensure compliance to Grindrod Integrated ISO Management System.
- Ensure effective communication regarding SHERQ to all relevant parties.
- Compile and distribute accurate monthly SHERQ statistics.
- Ensure effective contractor control in terms of construction and other regulations.
- Ensure compliance to Grindrod objectives and targets.
- Ensure compliance with OHS Act and ISO standards.
- Monitor and follow up on incidents from external service providers.
- Assist with incident and accident investigation to determine the root cause, recommend corrective action, and ensure correct records are completed, submitted, and retained.
- Internal and external SHERQ audits.
- ISO audits.
- Contractor performance statistics.
General tasks:
- Undertake all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the Company Health, Safety, Environment & Quality policy, and procedures are observed as well as all relevant safety and the provisions of the relevant Health and Safety & Environmental Legislation.
- Ensure that legal requirements are updated and communicated to those that have a need to know.
- Reporting to Line Manager SHERQ and National SHERQ Manager any deviations noticed.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12.
- Higher learning institution Degree/Diploma.
- SAMTRAC certificate will be beneficial.
Experience:
- 2 years’ experience in administration or similar role.
Due consideration will be given to the company’s equity targets.
