Introduction
An opportunity has become available for a self-motivated individual to be appointed as a General Assistant: Border Runner.
Suitably qualified people are invited to apply for this vacancy. The successful candidate will be required to work alternating shifts, including weekends.
Job description
The responsibilities of the successful applicant will include, but are not limited to the following:
Key Performance Area:
- Verify export / import documentation
- Ensure that the correct information is captured on the computer system
- Ensure documents are uploaded on to computer systems and files are up to date
- Communication with colleagues, Entry Clerks and Team Leaders.
- Keep the office updated of any delays at customs.
- Communication with customs officials, clients, suppliers and customers.
- Ensure 100% compliance and that no penalties are issued.
- Ensure the trucks are available for inspections and that they are attended to.
- Follow up and update transporters & clients on consignments.
- Applications & Completing of SADC Certificates and submissions to SARS.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Senior Certificate / Matric.
- 1-year customs related to Imports & Exports compliance.
- Any additional tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
- A Valid Driver’s license.

- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Shows initiative.
- Pay attention to detail.
- Intermediate experience in Microsoft office.
- Presentable to clients.
- Active participation with other team members.
- Reliable and honest.
- Ability to assist other team members.
