Introduction
Grindrod Logistics Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking to secure the permanent services of a Junior Transport Administrator to join the Durban office. All suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for this vacancy.
Job description

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to:

Finance & Operational Functions

  • Weekly Supplier Invoicing according to SLA.
  • Weekly Customers Invoicing according to the SLAs.
  • Weekly Closing off Disbursements account.
  • Weekly and Monthly Invoicing and Reports per Client.
  • Ensure Correct Rates are being charged to GLA by the suppliers.
  • Ensure that correct rates are charged to customers and that all loads are invoiced and recovered for.
  • Disbursements accounts must be resolved within a month of receipt from Accounts Dept.

Supplier Communication

  • Acknowledge, attend, and resolve all Suppliers Payments and Invoicing Queries
  • Communicate with Commercial and Transport Managers for any supplier rates issues.
  • Weekly Supplier invoice payment schedules and Load Trackers.

Customer Communication

  • Acknowledge, attend, and resolve all Customer Payments and Invoicing Queries.
  • Communicate with Commercial and Transport Managers for any customer rates issues.
  • Weekly Supplier invoice payment schedules and Load Trackers

Daily Activities

  • Communication to clients and contractors
  • Provide support to the Admin Team Leader & controllers with their daily activities.
  • Management of customer expectations.

Minimum requirements

Qualification:

  • Matric /Grade 12
  • 3-Year Transport or Finance related qualification at NQF level 3
  • Computer Literacy

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years transport experience in the road transport industry of at least 1 year in Invoicing, Controlling, Planning a bulk commodities environment.

Requird skills:

  • Data analysis and statistical aptitude
  • Highly conscientious and diligent
  • Management Skills
  • Good Understanding and interpretation of Road Traffic, Regulation, and local Municipal by-laws and cross border requirements.
  • Understanding of ISO9001:2015, 14001:2015 & 45001:2018 standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Assertiveness
  • Attention to detail
