Reporting directly to Global SHERQ Manager, the responsibilities of the successful applicant will include, but are not limited to the following:
· Administer and maintain the Group’s SHERQ Management System (HSEC), ensuring accurate record keeping, document control, and version management of policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
· Coordinate internal, external, and contractor audits, including scheduling with accrediting bodies, consolidating reports, tracking corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
· Capture and consolidate SHERQ-related data across Business Units (BUs) for monthly and quarterly performance reporting.
· Support and coordinate Group-wide training requirements, maintain the training matrix, liaising with HR, and compiling quarterly training summaries.
· Manage the SHERQ Community Group platform, driving engagement and sharing updates to strengthen SHERQ awareness and culture across the organization.
· Monitor and report on documentation expiry dates, certifications, and audit findings, ensuring timely review and compliance.
· Collaborate with BU leadership and the Global SHERQ Manager to promote alignment, consistency, and continual improvement in SHERQ performance.
· Coordinate and manage the Global SHERQ Community Group to facilitate the regular sharing of SHERQ-related information, promote awareness, and highlight emerging risks on a weekly basis.
· Provide monthly BU consolidated SHERQ reports to the Global SHERQ Manager.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications:
- A diploma in safety and /or an admin related qualification
- SAMTRAC or NEBOSH will be advantageous.
- Sound understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993).
- Proven knowledge of ISO management system principles and implementation practices.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar administrative or SHERQ-related role.
- Prior experience within a related industry will be an advantage.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and promote SHERQ awareness across teams.
- Demonstrated experience in managing documentation and maintaining effective document control systems.
Required skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Proficient in delivering effective training and awareness sessions.
- Skilled in compiling detailed audit reports, including preventive and corrective action recommendations.
- Exceptional report-writing and documentation skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- High level of accountability, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Willingness to travel as required; valid driver’s license essential.
