Introduction
United Container Depots, a division of Sturrock Grindrod Maritime, is looking to secure the services of a Tracking Clerk to join the Durban office. All suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for this vacancy.
Job description

Duties and responsibilities:

• Receiving/ Tracking in of all containers into the depot
• Compiling and sending daily reports to clients
• Dispatching / Tracking out of all containers from the depot
• Control gate activity and related access activity on roads
• Communicating tracking and stock related matters with clients and staff.
• Attending to all container related queries from customers
• Verifying release booking received from Client.
• Ensuring that units Tracked out are according to Client requirements.
• Operational area cleanliness
• Ensure filing records are preserved and kept in an orderly manner.

Education, experience and competencies required:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Fully computer literate
• 2-3 Years relevant experience
• Tracking experience in a container environment preferred
• Office administration skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, ability to speak effectively
• Ability to accurately record lengthy figures
• Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
• General physical fitness a requirement, including the ability in climb into and on top of containers
• Able to work under pressure
