Job description

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to:
 
  • Ensuring that the Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to and implemented.
  • Daily planning of unpacking and packing of break bulk, out of gauge cargo and containers.
  • Ensuring efficient optimization of space i.e. cargo is stacked to facility specification to ensure quick and easy accessibility.
  • Ensuring that containers are placed timeously for the required border authority examinations.
  • Reporting damages and discrepancies to respective stakeholders.
  • Planning, coordinating, and managing all stock takes.
  • Overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products within the warehouse.
  • Resolving any operational issues or discrepancies in shipping orders, receiving, or inventory management.
  • Analyzing and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse operations.
  • Maintaining a service record for all the equipment.
  • Daily checking of all tracking reports / Security log sheets for receipts and dispatches.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety rules and standards, including correct and consistent use of PPE.
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies in tracking reports and stock takes.
  • Planning and managing resources such as people (inclusive of outsourced personnel), space, equipment, consumables, etc. to meet daily targets.

Minimum requirements

Qualification/s:

  • Grade 12/ Matric.
  • Degree / Diploma in Logistics or similar.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in the similar Role/Industry.
  • Working knowledge of planning and scheduling warehouse operations.

Required Skills: 

  • Deadline driven.
  • Ability to work under pressure and have a quick turnaround time.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to effectively lead a team.
