Grindrod Logistics Africa is looking to secure the permanent services of a Commercial Contracts Administrator to join their Durban office. All suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for this vacancy.
Job description

Main Purpose of the Job:

Manage all communication and documentation related to the management and execution of commercial and other relevant contracts; and assist in the review of commercial contracts and assist with the contractual needs of the business.

  • Administration and updating of customer agreements.
  • Monitoring, renewal and SLA design and management.
  • Drafting, amending, and concluding the relevant contract and other agreements.
  • Keeping accurate records of correspondence, communication, validity, and contractual conditions.
  • Implement reliable procedures, systems, and controls for the accurate and effective administration of all contracts.
  • Assist in all aspects of effectively managing contracts.
  • Perform rate updates and communication.
  • Implement change management as required.
  • Customer onboarding and coordination (Link between operations, finance and commercial)
  • Perform customer vetting and KYC, ensuring compliance.
  • Management of key accounts and providing the relevant support.
  • Reporting and monitoring customer performance reporting.
  • Conduct customer and market research and analysis.
  • Address customer queries timeously.
  • Customer engagement and relationship building.
  • Tender, RFP and RFP research, information, and preparation.
  • Commercial, contractual, and general administrative support.
  • Review of insurance, risk, legal, service level agreements, terminal regulations, customer contracts, etc.

Minimum requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12
  • BCOM Logistics or similar tertiary qualification
Minimum Period of Experience / Training:
  • Shipping and Logistics experience (± 5 years)

Experience:

  • Corporate governance administration and risk mitigation
  • Need to have a logistics background and minimum BCOM or similar tertiary qualification
  • Legal experience in terms of customer contracts
  • International or Africa Cross border logistics experience
