Introduction
Grindrod Logistics Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking to secure the fixed term services of a General Assistant: Border Runner. All suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for this vacancy. The successful candidate will be required to work alternating shifts including alternate weekends.
Job description

 Key Performance Areas:
  • Correct document packs batching of Form21 and SAD500s.
  • Verify export / import documentation prior to sending to the HUB & clients.
  • Ensure that the correct information captured on entries & RCG manifests.
  • Communication with internal and external customers and service providers.
  • Liaising with customs, entry clerks, and Team Leaders.
  • Ensure no penalties are issued due to petty items that could have been avoided.
  • Ensure the trucks are available for inspections and attended to.
  • Ensure documents are uploaded on Shipshape and file are up to date.
  • Keep the office updated of any delays at customs within an hour of documents being submitted.
  • Follow up and updating transporters& clients on consignments.
  • Creating RCG/Releasing of driver’s/ preparation of copies for foreign agents.
  • Applications & Completing of SADC Certificates and submissions to SARS.

Minimum requirements

Qualifications & Experience
  •  Senior Certificate / Matric.
  •  2-years customs related to Imports & Exports compliance.
  •  Any additional tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
  •  A valid driver’s license and be a regular driver.

  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft office.
