Introduction
Grindrod Mult-Purpose Terminals a Division of Grindrod SA Ops (Pty) Ltd is looking to secure the permanent services of a Operations Controller to join their Maydon Wharf staff. All suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for this vacancy.
Job description
The responsibilities of the successful applicant will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitor operation and delivered cargo to and from ships, trucks, and other storage facilities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the terminal facilities.
- Respond to emergencies and operational disruptions effectively.
- Maintain accurate operational logs and records.
- Collaborate with Termin Supervisors and other departments to optimize operations
Minimum requirements
- Diploma or equivalent experience in operations, bulk, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Terminal Controller or similar role in the Freight industry.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Strong Operational skills and the ability to troubleshoot cargo issues.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and in varying weather.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including nights and weekends, if required.
