Introduction
Logistics and Maritime Solutions (Mozambique) is looking to secure the permanent services of 04 (four) Shift Operators to join their Maputo Office in Mozambique. All suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for this vacancy
Job description
The responsibilities of the successful applicants will include, but are not limited to the following:
- To monitor and record incoming cargo at the terminal, verifying the relevant cargo details against the supporting documentation;
- To confirm the client, product type, cargo reference and designated stockpile to ensure correct cargo allocation;
- To monitor cargo movements and stockpile conditions, ensuring that cargo is stored in the correct location and that any irregularities are promptly reported;
- To complete and maintain accurate shift tallies, recording received quantities, truck or train movements, cargo references and other relevant operational details;
- To observe the quality and condition of incoming material against the client's requirements and immediately report any suspected contamination, mixing or quality discrepancies;
- To Identify and report discrepancies between physical cargo movements, operational records and supporting documentation;
- To maintain effective communication with Logistics Coordinators and relevant terminal personnel, escalating irregularities, delays, missing documentation and other operational concerns without delay;
- To maintain accurate operational records and provide a clear handover to the incoming shift to ensure continuity and traceability;
- To comply with terminal safety procedures, operational instructions and applicable cargo-handling requirements;
- To promptly report any discrepancy or suspected non-compliance for investigation and appropriate action.
Minimum requirements
Qualification / s
- Grade 12 / Matric.Experience
- Relevent work experience is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Experience in logistics services, or a related field (advantageous);
- Strong attention to details;
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently;
- Good communication and reporting skills;
- Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Must be fluent in Portuguese and English;
- Basic knowledge of communication in English.
