The successful candidate will gain practical experience in Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality (SHERQ) functions, while supporting compliance initiatives and contributing to the continuous improvement of operational standards. Job description
- Assist in driving the health and safety culture through awareness training, inductions, re-training, safety talks and other initiatives.
- Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining operational permits and licenses.
- Manage SHERQ document control and record keeping.
- Review and update risk assessments.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 management systems.
- Assist with internal and external audits and inspections.
- Monitor compliance with legislative, permit and company SHERQ requirements.
- Assist with waste management, environmental sustainability and recycling initiatives.
- Maintain SHERQ records, reports, registers and corrective action tracking systems.
- Assist in maintaining emergency preparedness plans and conducting emergency drills.
- Perform any other duties as instructed by the Line Manager.
Minimum requirements
Qualification / s
- Grade 12.
- National Diploma in Safety Management or related qualification.
Experience
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
- Knowledge and experience of related computer applications
- Understanding of regulations and practices related to workplace safety.
- Knowledge of environmental standards and compliance with regulations.
